I have a growing love affair with Alice Temperley, whose feminine but rock-inspired sensibility meets well with my idea of dressing in contradictions. For SS15 the designer focussed on upping her game in daywear: her core pieces and versatile separates resulted in plenty of fresh, modern looks with all the usual beautiful Temperley signatures (lace, leather and tailoring). For those of you still in search of summer sale bargains please do check out the Temperley website. However, don’t leave without exploring the new Autumn Winter collection which is a beautifully colourful display of bold floral designs on opulent fabrics such as velvet and chiffon. The collection is well worth a dedicated post of its own for the embroidered cocktail dresses and polka dot trench styles.
I purchased this Coco lace playsuit from Temperley as a first post-pregnancy purchase last month. On reflection this wasn’t such a great idea – I couldn’t wear it for a good while thanks for post-surgery edema (oh the joys of motherhood) but it’s now one of my favourite pieces for effortless evening wear. You know, those times when a dress or a skirt just-won’t-do, the playsuit or jumpsuit (the ‘Coco’ comes in both short and long lace versions) fill a very important role. To quote Alice Temperley herself:
